Trecal - an introduction Applied Cloud Technology Case Studies
Fundamentally, information systems have two basic functions:

(i) prompt the user for information
(ii) present the user with information.

Trecal has developed augmented technology to allow for a more user-friendly environment - allowing the software to integrate more seamlessly into it’s environment. Our design concept removes duplication of effort both saving on costs by removing lower-value work leaving the higher-value tasks more accessible.
For maximum efficiency information should be entered once and be available only to those who need it. Once entered the information is stored ‘as data’ and is immediately available to the entire company on a ‘need to know basis’.
Utilising technology to ‘move’ knowledge where and when it is needed is a more rewarding experience both financially and in the working envirnoment.

Our case studies are presented to exemplify this.

The ‘cloud’, previously known as ‘cyber-space’ is something of a double-edged sword. The growing number of clouds, Google, Microsoft, Dell, IBM and so on, are driving costs downward in a bid for market share.
The ‘cloud’ can dramatically save costs directly and through time saving once implemented correctly.
An entire company can be migrated into the cloud, over a relatively short period of time removing all network exclusive costs:

(i) Global access to your company information 24/7
(ii) Providing 24/7 Hardware tech support
(iv) Ensuring data is always backed up and off site
(v) Ensuring servers are maintained, upgraded and patched regularly

There are two fundamental issues yet to be resolved, this is key to knowing if the ‘cloud’ is better off being hosted within or outside your company.

(i) Privacy:
Who has access to your information and how secure is it?
This is largely an ‘Economics Vs Confidence’ tug of war. As privacy issues are resolved, where a give company knows it’s information is as well or better protected in a 3rd party cloud the only remaining question is one of cost.

(ii) Broadband:

These systems are completely dependant on the availability of broadband. Should the connection die what are the options?
The answer to this question is somewhat lengthy. Assuming your land-line broadband died for 4 hours, that would be all Fifi devices dead for that period. GSM devices, phones & touch-pads would still be operational.
Trecal’s solution is by adding redundancy, both WiFi and GSM systems are in use simultaneously, should one fail the other is still available. By utilising this system the probability of a complete system failure is virtually nothing.
A hard-copy of the entire companies information can be produced on a regular basis can be engineered as part of the process.
